Coffee on the Eastside and in south King County
Bellevue coffee roasters are few inside the city itself, one on the Roast Local directory, but King County around it is full of them. This page covers every King County town without its own page here: Bellevue, Kirkland, Renton, Sammamish and Bothell on the Eastside, and Kent, Auburn, Federal Way and Burien to the south. Renton
- Boon Boona Coffee: opened its shop in downtown Renton in 2019, and it roasts and runs a cafe there. We list it as a local favorite; a listing does not mean the roaster is part of the club.
Bellevue
- Third Culture Coffee: has been at 80 102nd Ave NE in Bellevue since 2017.
Kirkland
- Thruline Coffee, formerly Community Thru Coffee: in Kirkland since 2008.

- Zoka Coffee roasts in Bellingham but opened its Kirkland cafe in 2009.
Federal Way
- Caffe D'arte: an Italian style roaster founded by Naples trained Mauro Cipolla, with its address at 33926 9th Avenue S.
Kent, Auburn and Shoreline
- Rad Roasting Company, Kent; Poverty Bay Coffee and Roasterworks, Auburn; Black Coffee Northwest and Orca Bay Coffee, Shoreline. Each is listed under its town on Roast Local.

The Eastside's coffee story
Kent has a place in Seattle-area coffee history. Tully's Coffee opened its first store there in September 1992. Its founder, Tom "Tully" O'Keefe, started it to rival Starbucks.
Boon Boona's 2019 opening made downtown Renton a roasting address. The company began in 2012 by sourcing and distributing Ethiopian green coffee and started selling roasted Ethiopian and Rwandan coffee in 2016. Its cafes offer pop up space to local artists, nonprofits and small businesses.
Kirkland has kept a local roaster since 2008, when Thruline, then called Community Thru Coffee, set up there. Bellevue gained Third Culture in 2017.
Some of the region's coffee money goes back to a local school: Zoka sells a Redhawk Blend that benefits Sammamish High School. Buy a bag from an Eastside roaster and the money pays wages in Renton or Kirkland rather than leaving the county.
