How does a coffee subscription work at Palouse?
Palouse Coffee Club is a Washington State coffee subscription. You pick a roast level, a style and a grind, and every 2 or 4 weeks a 12 oz bag arrives from a different independent Washington roaster, roasted to order and shipped in the roaster's own bag. First bag free, you pay $7.99 shipping. Then $16.99 a bag, any roast. Skip, pause or cancel online.
Washington has 209 independent roasters by the count of the Roast Local directory (September 2026), from Bellingham to Spokane. The club puts a different one in front of you each box.

Every box comes with the same four promises:
- Roasted and shipped within 3 days.
- Free replacement if a bag disappoints.
- A reminder email 3 days before each box.
- Your ratings steer the next bag.
From the quiz to your porch
- Answer three questions, or skip them. The quiz asks how you drink it (black, with milk or from an espresso machine), which flavors sound best and whether you want caffeine. Then it sets your roast level and style, and you can change either one by hand.
- Build the box. Choose one bag or two, whole bean or ground, and every 2 or 4 weeks. Give the second bag its own roast and style, and a dark roast drinker and a decaf drinker can share one box.
- We send your order to a Washington roaster, a different one each box. They roast your bag to order.
- The roaster packs and ships it from their own roastery. Roasted and shipped within 3 days.
- You rate the bag. We use that rating to pick from the next roaster.
- Three days before the next box, a reminder email arrives with links to skip, pause or cancel.
Who roasts it
Every bag is roasted in Washington State by an independent roaster. We look for three things: the business is independent, it roasts here, and it was operating when we last checked its shop and cafes. The whole policy, including how a roaster asks for a correction, is on how we choose roasters.
The local favorites on our Washington roasters list run from Camber and Zoka in Bellingham to Olympia Coffee in Olympia, Bluebeard in Tacoma and Indaba in Spokane. We list them because we like them. A listing does not mean a roaster is part of the club.
A bag bought from a roaster here pays a Washington payroll. Olympia Coffee has been Living Wage Certified since 2022, and Dillanos in Sumner employs more than 125 people. That is the reason the club exists, and why local roasters matter says more.
What is in the box
A 12 oz bag in the roaster's own bag and packaging, shipped from their roastery. It looks like it came from their shop, because it did.
Our packing slip rides along. It names the roaster and their shop, tells their story and lists what to taste for. In your first year the slip also carries a short note from the Palouse wheat fields for that month, from fall seeding to the August harvest.
When a bag misses, or life gets busy
Free replacement if a bag disappoints. Tell us and a different coffee comes. Your rating also goes into the pick for the next roaster, so a miss teaches us something.
Every email we send has links to skip a box, pause, change your card or cancel. Going on a trip? Skip one box. Need a break? Pause.

Will I get the same roaster twice?
Not in your first year. With 209 independent roasters in Washington, each box is one you have not had from us before.
Do you ship outside Washington State?
Yes, anywhere in the US. The coffee is still roasted in Washington and shipped by the roaster.
Can two people with different tastes share a box?
Yes. Choose two bags and set the second one to a different roast level or style, such as light for one person and decaf for the other.
