What Palouse Coffee Club does
Palouse Coffee Club is a Washington State coffee subscription. Every box brings a 12 oz bag from a different independent Washington roaster, roasted to order and shipped by the roaster in their own bag. First bag free, you pay $7.99 shipping. Then $16.99 a bag, every 2 or 4 weeks, and you can skip, pause or cancel online.
We do not roast coffee. Roasting is the roaster's craft, and we would rather send you theirs than put our name on someone else's beans.
Why Washington State
Because the roasters are already here. The Roast Local directory counts 209 independent roasters in Washington (September 2026), and they are spread across the whole state, not only Seattle.
Look at the towns on our roasters list: Bellingham and Burlington up north, Seattle's Capitol Hill, Fremont, Ravenna and SODO, then Renton, Sumner, Tacoma and Olympia down the Sound, and Spokane on the far side of the Cascades. Lighthouse in Fremont roasts on a 1952 Gothot cast iron drum roaster. Kuma started in a Seattle garage in 2008. Indaba began with a cafe in Spokane's West Central neighborhood in 2009. We wanted a way to taste all of them, one box at a time.
Each of those roasters is a local employer. When you buy their coffee, the money pays wages here and keeps a small shop open. That is why the club exists, and why local roasters matter puts names to it.
Why the name Palouse
The Palouse is the rolling wheat country around Pullman in eastern Washington. A coffee club named for a farming region fits: coffee is a crop too, and every bag starts on a farm.
Your first year of boxes follows the Palouse wheat year, from fall seeding to the August harvest, and each packing slip carries that month's note from the fields.
Who picks the coffee
Joe McRose picks the coffees and writes the roaster pages. Each page is built from the roaster's own public pages and public sources, written in our words and dated with the day it was checked. The rules he follows are on how we choose roasters.
The roasters shown on this site are local favorites we list because we like them. A listing does not mean a roaster is part of the club.
