QED Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Seattle, founded in 2015. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The name comes from the Latin phrase used to close a mathematical proof, and the roaster treats each coffee as its proof. The small-batch roaster opened in 2015 and cites more than 30 years of roasting experience behind it. Current coffees include a Mexican lot from the Casa Comun cooperative and two Guatemalan farms, Finca La Bolsa and Finca Las Camelias, plus a coffee called The Elements.
What they roast
House blends include Median Blend, Axiom Blend and The Elements. Single origins on the list when we checked: Mexico Casa Comun Cooperative, Guatemala Finca La Bolsa and Guatemala Finca Las Camelias.
