Zanarkand Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Seattle. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Founder Jacob Kysar writes the shop's coffee notes himself and roasts to order, offering some coffees in filter or espresso profiles. The brand pitches its coffee as a push against complacency, urging drinkers to slow down, get outside and try new adventures. Kysar roasts once a week in small batches and ships a few days after roasting so the coffee can rest; shipping is free on three or more bags.
A Land Rover coffee truck takes the brand to events around the area. On the blog, Kysar has written about losing his father and about restoring a 1989 Range Rover as a creative project.

Cafes and restaurants can order by Thursday at 5pm for a Sunday or Monday roast and Wednesday pickup or shipping, with a Guatemala-led house espresso as the core offer. Current coffees have included lots from Chiapas in Mexico, Jaen in Peru, Coban in Guatemala and Hambela in Ethiopia.
