Washington State coffee club questions, answered

Price, gifts, delivery, roasters and your account, in short answers.

Plans, price and whether it is worth it

Is a coffee subscription worth it?

A coffee subscription is worth it if you make coffee at home most weeks and want fresh bags from Washington State roasters you would not find on your own. At Palouse the first bag is free (you pay $7.99 shipping), each bag after that is $16.99, and you can skip, pause or cancel online.

If you already love one roaster and want nothing else, buy from them directly. Most of the Washington roasters we list sell their own subscriptions, and buying straight from them keeps a local shop going.

How much does it cost?

$16.99 a bag, any roast or style. A box with two bags is two bags at that price. First bag free, you pay $7.99 shipping.

Is the first bag really free?

Yes, your first bag is free. You pay $7.99 shipping for that first box, and after that it is $16.99 a bag.

Can I choose the roast?

Yes. Pick light, medium, dark or mix it up, then single origin, blend, espresso or decaf, then whole bean or ground.

Can two people with different tastes share a box?

Yes. Choose two bags and give the second its own roast level and style. Light and decaf, or dark and espresso, arrive in the same box.

How often does it ship?

Every 2 or 4 weeks. You choose when you build the box.

Gifts

Can I send it as a gift?

Yes. A gift is 3, 6 or 12 boxes for $66.99, $134.99 or $269.99, shipping included, paid once. Each box holds one bag from a different Washington roaster. See coffee gifts from Washington State.

Can I choose the start date?

Yes. You pick the start date, the roast and the grind when you buy the gift.

What happens after the last gift box?

The gift ends. There is no renewal and nothing more is charged.

Can I add a note?

Yes, a gift note is optional and you write it when you buy.

Can I send a gift to someone who moved away from Washington?

Yes, we ship anywhere in the US. A bag from a Washington roaster is a good way to reach someone who left the state and misses its coffee.

Delivery and freshness

How fresh is the coffee?

Roasted and shipped within 3 days. Each roaster roasts your bag to order and sends it from their own roastery.

Who ships the coffee?

The roaster does, in their own bag and packaging. Our packing slip names the roaster and their shop, tells their story and lists the tasting notes.

Do you ship outside Washington State?

Yes, anywhere in the US.

What if I do not like a bag?

Free replacement if a bag disappoints. Tell us and a different coffee comes, and your rating steers the next bag.

Roasters

Which roasters are in the club?

Independent roasters that roast in Washington State, a different one each box. The roasters page lists local favorites we like; a listing does not mean a roaster is part of the club.

Will I get the same roaster twice?

Not in your first year. With 209 independent roasters in Washington, each box is one you have not had from us before.

How do you choose roasters?

A roaster has to be independent, roast in Washington and be operating when we check. The full policy is on how we choose roasters.

Why buy from a local roaster at all?

Because the money stays here. Fidalgo in Burlington hires people leaving the legal system through its Underground Coffee brand, and Lighthouse in Fremont has staff who have roasted there for decades. More on why local roasters matter.

I roast coffee in Washington. How do I get involved?

Email roasters@palousecoffeeclub.com. You name your wholesale price and ship in your own bag; the details are on for roasters.

Your account

How do I skip, pause or cancel?

Use the links in any email we send. Every one has links to skip a box, pause, change your card or cancel.

Will I know before a box ships?

Yes. A reminder email comes 3 days before each box, so nothing ships by surprise.

Can I get a second free bag?

No, it is one free first bag per customer. We match it by email and shipping address.

How do I reach a person?

Email coffee@palousecoffeeclub.com. Offices write to office@palousecoffeeclub.com and roasters to roasters@palousecoffeeclub.com.
