Central Washington's coffee story
In 1990 Donna and Mark started D&M Coffee in Ellensburg in a small Scamp trailer converted into a mobile espresso bar.
Leavenworth's roaster has been downtown since 1995. For most of that time it went by Alpine Coffee Roasters, until a 2019 rename to Leavenworth Coffee Roasters.
In Yakima, MAK Daddy Coffee Roasters takes its name from the first initials of the founder's three daughters.
The valley also drew a west side roaster's eye. In 2022 Dillanos, the Sumner roaster, bought Avalanche Distributing of Zillah, in the Yakima Valley.
