Solid Grounds Coffee Roasting is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Ellensburg, founded in 2019. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Jadon Wise began roasting in 2019 and has sold fresh coffee to the Kittitas Valley ever since. The about page says the roaster grew out of a love of a great cup of coffee and a wish to pass that on to others. Its Nicaragua Cafe Diego is sold as a direct trade coffee, and the product listing links a short video about the grower's story.
The menu goes well past coffee, listing acai bowls, wraps, salads, bagels, smoothies and seasonal drinks such as a peach cobbler chai. The single origin list also reaches Africa with a Fair Trade Malawi Mzuzu AA, described with maple, vanilla and baking spice notes. Macrame keychains, wristlets and pacifier clips are sold in the shop alongside soap holders and its own shirts.
