Their story
Serving coffee in downtown Cle Elum since 2001, the business is still run by its original owners, with three generations of the family working there. Chris Madsen, the original owner, roasts the coffee himself. The roasts were created with altitude in mind and range from a light city roast up to dark French.
The owners say they keep ties with the growing regions they buy from and with their importers to keep quality steady.
What they roast
House blends include 1900 Medium, Caffe Vivante Dark, La Mattina Sumatra Medium, Snoqualmie Breakfast Medium and Dark and Summit Medium. An espresso is on the list. Decaf: Bravissimo Decaf Swiss Water. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.

The downtown shop opens daily from 6am, and a drive-thru opens even earlier on weekdays.

The roaster leans on its 1,900 foot elevation in Cle Elum, and its 1900 Medium roast is named for that height. It sells a private label coffee and K-Cups for the PHS Seahawks football program. Pastries and other food at the Cle Elum shop are made from scratch and baked on site every day.
