Coffee on Kitsap and the peninsula
Olympic Peninsula coffee roasters run from Port Townsend, where one has roasted since 1985, to Sequim, Port Angeles, Shelton and the coast at Aberdeen and Ocean Shores. On the Kitsap side, Bremerton and Bainbridge Island each have roasters on the Roast Local directory. This page covers the whole region, Poulsbo included.
The peninsula's coffee story
Port Townsend Coffee Roasting Co has roasted since 1985 and has used five different Diedrich roasters in that time.
Kingston's roasting is recent. Over the Moon Coffee Roasters says it started there in 2020, and the Roast Local directory now files it under Poulsbo.
Even the ride across the Sound pours Washington coffee. Since 2017 Washington State Ferries has served Caffe Vita, a Seattle roaster, on its boats.
Out on the peninsula a roaster is a small local employer, and a town may have only one. Buying from a roaster in Port Townsend or Sequim keeps that job in town and the money on this side of the water. Read why local roasters matter.
