Where to drink Seattle roasters' coffee, neighborhood by neighborhood

How this list was made

To drink coffee from Seattle's own roasters, go to the cafes they run themselves. This guide lists every Seattle cafe run by a roaster we list as a local favorite, grouped by neighborhood, with the street address where the roaster publishes one.

Three rules decided what is here:

• The roaster is independent and roasts in Washington State. Most roast in Seattle; Olympia Coffee roasts in Olympia, Zoka in Bellingham and Boon Boona in Renton, and all three run Seattle cafes.
• The roaster was operating when we checked its pages on September 27, 2026.
• The cafe is on the roaster's own list of locations and sits inside Seattle city limits.

There is no ranking and no score. Hours change, so check the roaster's page before you go. A listing does not mean the roaster is part of the club.

Capitol Hill and the Central District

Two of the cafes here have the roasters in the building.

• Caffe Vita, 1005 E Pike St. The flagship roastery. Guests can watch the vintage Probat roasters at work, and it is open every day.
• Victrola Coffee Roasters, 310 E Pike St. The Pike Street cafe houses Victrola's roastery, and free public cuppings are held there on select Fridays at 11 am.
• Victrola's 15th Avenue East cafe is where the company started in 2000. Neighbors can book its community room for free.
• Espresso Vivace, Brix, 532 Broadway Ave East. The flagship espresso bar. It does not take cash. Vivace closed its Broadway sidewalk bar in May 2023 and kept this flagship and its South Lake Union shop.
• Boon Boona Coffee, 1223 East Cherry Street, Suite C121B, at 12th and Cherry near Seattle University. Every coffee on the menu is African, and a mural by Perri Rhoden covers the wall.
• Broadcast Coffee, 1918 E Yesler Way. Broadcast's first cafe, in the Central District since 2008 and open every day.
• Broadcast also runs Temple Pastries Bakery Cafe at 2524 S Jackson St.

Downtown, Belltown, Pioneer Square and South Lake Union

The downtown cafes suit a workday. Two sit in historic buildings.

• Olympia Coffee Roasting, Downtown Seattle, 1420 5th Ave, Suite 103.
• Victrola, 3rd and Pine, 300 Pine Street, Suite 100, in the Macy's building above Westlake Station. Victrola has a second downtown cafe on Pine Street near 1st Avenue.
• Victrola, Thomas St, in the Troy Laundry Building in South Lake Union. The 1927 building has been a Seattle Landmark since 1996.
• Herkimer Coffee, 4th and Blanchard, 2101 4th Ave, in Belltown. Opened in 2020 for the downtown work crowd.
• Fulcrum Coffee Roasters runs a cafe in Belltown. Its roastery in SODO takes visits by appointment only.
• Caffe Vita, Smith Tower, 506 2nd Ave, in the historic tower in Pioneer Square.
• Espresso Vivace, Alley 24, 227 Yale Ave N, in South Lake Union. Cashless, like the Brix bar.
• Zoka Coffee, South Lake Union, 351 Boren Avenue N.
• Caffe Vita, KEXP Gathering Space, 472 1st Ave N, at Seattle Center. The space also holds the radio station's on-air studio and a record store.

North Seattle: Phinney Ridge to Ravenna

North of the Ship Canal, Herkimer and Lighthouse serve coffee in the same buildings where they roast it.

• Herkimer, Phinney Ridge, 7320 Greenwood Ave N. The first Herkimer cafe, open daily, sharing its building with the roastery and the wholesale office.
• Lighthouse Roasters, 400 N 43rd St, in Fremont at 43rd and Phinney. The cafe and the roaster share a corner craftsman building about 120 years old.
• Caffe Vita, Fremont, 4301 Fremont Ave N.
• Zoka, Greenlake, 2200 N 56th St. The Tangletown coffeehouse that opened on January 7, 1997, and still hosts many local groups.
• Zoka, University, 2901 NE Blakeley Street, near University Village.
• Herkimer, Ravenna, 5611 University Way NE. Its regulars are mostly neighbors and UW students.
• Seven Coffee Roasters, 2007 NE Ravenna Blvd. A market and zero waste cafe in a century old landmark, open daily from 7 am to 7 pm.
• Boon Boona, UW Book Store, 4326 University Way NE. It pours beer and wine from local makers including Metier Brewing and Holy Mountain.
• Victrola, NW Market St, in Ballard. It has a community room you can reserve and sits near the Sunday Ballard Farmers Market.
• Caffe Vita, Sunset Hill Fiore, 3125 NW 85th St. Owner Deming Maclise's first cafe, which the company calls the blueprint for its current era.

Queen Anne, Thorndyke Avenue and the south end

• Caffe Vita, Queen Anne, 224 W Galer St. It began life as a Caffe Fiore.
• Olympia Coffee, Moonrise Bakery, 1805 Queen Anne Avenue North. Olympia Coffee added Moonrise Bakery and its pastry production in 2020.
• Kuma Coffee, 3401 Thorndyke Ave W, Suite 100, by the railroad tracks. This is a pickup spot more than a cafe: collect an online order Monday to Thursday, 10 am to 4:30 pm, and the small warehouse cafe gives you a free drink.
• Olympia Coffee, West Seattle, 3840 California Ave SW.
• Olympia Coffee, Columbia City, 4824 Rainier Ave S.
• Caffe Vita, Seward Park, 5028 Wilson Ave S.
• Victrola, Beacon Ave, on Beacon Hill near the library and the light rail station.

Which roasters run the most cafes in Seattle?

Caffe Vita and Victrola, with seven Seattle cafes each on their own location lists when we checked on September 27, 2026. Olympia Coffee has four in Seattle, and Zoka and Herkimer have three each.

Can I pay cash at Espresso Vivace?

No. Neither of Vivace's espresso bars, Brix on Capitol Hill and Alley 24 in South Lake Union, takes cash.

Which of these cafes has the earliest opening hours?

Check each roaster's page for hours; the JSON we work from lists addresses, and hours change with the season, so we do not print them here.

Is there a Seattle cafe that serves only African coffee?

Yes. Boon Boona, which buys only African coffee, runs two Seattle cafes: at 12th and Cherry near Seattle University and inside the University Book Store.

A roaster's own cafe serves its coffee the way the roaster wants it. At Caffe Vita's flagship, Lighthouse, Herkimer's Phinney Ridge cafe and Victrola's Pike Street cafe, the roastery is in the same building.
