Walla Walla Roastery is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Walla Walla, founded in 2001. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The roastery has turned out single origins and blends since 2001 and is marking its 25th year with anniversary shirts and a 25 Blend. It ships mostly in USPS flat-rate boxes sized for 4, 8 or 20 one-pound bags. The first production roast came in August 2001, and the 25 Blend made for the anniversary mixes light and dark roasted coffees from Bali, Guatemala and Colombia.
According to the roastery, its House Espresso, built in the Northern Italian tradition, won a bronze medal for milk-based espresso at Golden Bean North America in 2018. Creektown is its take on Mokha Java, often called the oldest coffee blend, combining Ethiopia, Guatemala and Indonesia at a medium Full City roast.

House blends include Brown Bear Melange, Creektown, Old School, Harvest, The Blues and 25 Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Guatemala Los Volcanes, Nicaragua Natural Matagalpa, Mexico San Agustin Loxicha, Colombia Pink Bourbon Natural, Peru Yapaz Bajo Natural and Peru Finca La Encanada. Why buying from Walla Walla Roastery matters here
The site places the business at the foot of the Blue Mountains. One blend was made with Kyle MacLachlan, whom the roastery calls an honorary Walla Wallan, as a companion to his Pursued By Bear wine label. The Blues takes its name from the nearby Blue Mountains, pulling together five coffees that were first chosen for cold brew.
Every bag bought from a Walla Walla roaster pays roasting and cafe wages in Washington, and the coffee reaches you days after roasting instead of months. That is the reason the club exists. Why local roasters matter.
