Their story
Chris Pitotti left small-business banking to start the roaster with his wife Angela, and their sons Emilio and Lucas work alongside them. Coffee is roasted to order Sunday through Friday, with no pre-roasted stock kept on hand. Its beans come from Central and South America and from Northeast Africa, and it roasts them in small batches aiming for a smooth, traditional taste.
Family Favorite was the first coffee the family ever roasted, and the lineup now runs from a barely toasted White Coffee to a dark blend called Intense. The coffee bar keeps a secret menu of drinks modeled on desserts, such as a Doppio Con Panna meant to recall creme brulee. A wholesale program supplies cafes, restaurants and retail stores, which can order through a separate online partner store at any hour.

House blends include Family Favorite, Angela's Blend, Intense, Good Morning, Countryside, Sunrise and Strong. Single origins on the list when we checked: Ethiopia, Kenya, Honduras, Colombia and Brazil. Decaf: French Decaf; Decaf Pitotti.
