Purpose Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Colfax. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The business ties its coffee to good causes, asking customers to suggest charities and trading free in-store drip coffee for donations. Husband and wife Nick and Brianna Wright own the business; Nick roasts, sells and runs it day to day while Brianna works in the medical field. The owners began on a popcorn air popper, then moved to a Hot Top roaster for micro batches, outgrowing each within months.
Today the coffee is roasted on a bright orange Diedrich, a machine made in the Inland Northwest. Per its wholesale page, 5% of coffee profits go to a cause chosen by the customer. The FAQ explains that it skips organic and fair trade certification, saying little of that premium reaches growers, and buys from family farms through importers it trusts.

Roast levels run Light, Medium and Dark. House blends include Purpose Roasters Dark Blend, Purpose Roasters Medium Blend, Purpose Roasters Light Blend and Anytime Blend. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.
