Jebale Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Vancouver. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The name comes from a Ugandan greeting that roughly means well done, and the coffee is single origin from Uganda. The family-owned company buys directly from Ugandan farmers above market price and roasts in small batches in Vancouver. It buys from named growers around Bubuda on Mount Elgon and Kaptura near Sipi Falls, some since 2022, and says one farming family uses the income to pay for their children's schooling.
After harvest the cherries are pulped, washed or dried depending on the method, then milled before export, and the green beans are roasted in small batches once they arrive. The logo pairs a plant for the farmer and a bean for the roaster, joined by an arc, and the company says it will give back to both the growing and roasting communities.
What they roast
Roast levels run Light (Half City), Medium (City) and Espresso (Full City). Single origins on the list when we checked: Oh Mai, Kawow, Gishu and Mubisi. Espresso: JajaVa. Decaf: Omugenyi (Decaf). Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.
