Monroe Coffee Co. is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Monroe. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The shop began as Pilot House Coffee; owner Heather Fulcher, also a Monroe City Council member, reshaped it around coffee and faith. Her sister Jody Fulcher Dennett does the roasting in small batches at the Monroe shop. Jody also tracks down new green coffees, which the two sisters taste together before adding them, and the business is owned and staffed by the family.
As a Christian-owned business, it picks the books and cards on its shelves with its faith in mind, and it leaves out Wi-Fi so customers talk to each other. Cinnamon rolls are baked fresh on Saturday mornings and sold until the batch runs out.
Where to drink it
The Main Street shop opens 6am to 3pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, is closed Sundays, and has no Wi-Fi by design.

Why buying from Monroe Coffee Co. matters here
Alongside coffee, the shop sells Christian books and cards and offers Bible name imprinting. The imprinting is done on a heat-foil press in gold or silver lettering, on Bibles bought in the shop or brought from home, and most jobs take a few business days. The owners say they serve Monroe and the Snoqualmie Valley, including travelers passing through on Highway 2, from a small yellow building on Main Street.
Every bag bought from a Monroe roaster pays roasting and cafe wages in Washington, and the coffee reaches you days after roasting instead of months. That is the reason the club exists. Why local roasters matter.
