LaShaw Ranch Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Rockford. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Amanda and Jeff LaShaw bought a farm in 2014 and in 2015 opened the Golden Gem Mercantile, a feed and gift store that also served coffee. In 2021 the roaster who had supplied them for years retired and offered them his business, which they took over. That roaster had some 60 years of experience, and the couple kept his recipes while adding their own.
Before coffee, Jeff LaShaw worked the couple's land, raising cattle and chickens, growing crops and blending his own livestock feed. The two met in 2005 and married three years later. Amanda is listed as owner and roaster, and their sons Joe and Jon Jon appear on the team page as junior roasters.
What they roast
House blends include Country Roads, Shoot'n Iron, Cowgirl, Stallion, Rough Neck, The Duke, Freedom Blend, Justice Blend and Rescue Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Brazil and Sumatra French. Espresso: Espresso Blend. Decaf: Decaf Blend. Why buying from LaShaw Ranch Roasters matters here
The roastery sits on a farm along Highway 27 near Rockford and takes vendor applications for a Christmas on the Palouse event. Businesses can buy bulk coffee with delivery, custom-labeled bags, barista training and equipment sales and repair, or order wholesale through the Faire marketplace. The roastery also packs medium, dark and decaf coffee into single-serve pods, sold on their own or in variety packs.
