Houdini Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Pasco. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Owner and head roaster Cody grew up in the Tri-Cities, started as a barista in 2014 and moved into roasting and equipment repair within a year. His roasting skill earned him the nickname Houdini, which became the name of the company. Before starting his own roastery he worked for Black Rock Coffee Bar, Resilient Coffee Roasters and Roasters Coffee, and in 2019 he competed in an SCA best espresso contest.
Along the way he built maintenance systems, wholesale programs and quality checks for former employers and traveled to Brazil with green coffee importers. The menu keeps to the magic theme: Straitjacket is the medium blend, Buried Alive the dark roast and Hand Cuff the decaf, next to light roasts from Burundi and Nicaragua.

Roast levels run Light, Medium and Dark. House blends include Straitjacket and Buried Alive. Single origins on the list when we checked: Busasa (Burundi) and Nueva Segovia (Nicaragua). Decaf: Hand Cuff. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.

It roasts for Tri-Cities cafes including Swigg Coffee Bar and Lifeline Coffee Co. As a distributor for La Marzocco and Nuova Simonelli, it also sells espresso machines and grinders and services equipment for local shops.
