Ahava Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Pasco. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The site explains that Ahava, said ah-hah-vah, refers to greeting guests with love. Along with retail bags, the company supplies cafes and restaurants with wholesale coffee, staff training and equipment support. Dawn is the flagship medium roast, a mix of Ethiopian, Brazilian and Guatemalan coffee meant to work as espresso, in an AeroPress or on drip.
Ember is its darkest roast, drawing on Brazil, Peru and Colombia, while Haven sits at medium dark and Dusk is a Swiss Water decaf. Single origins include a light Guji from southern Ethiopia, a light Colombian called Coffeelipe and Finca Chirimoya, a washed coffee from smallholders in Cajamarca, Peru. It has hosted The Ahava Table, a five-course dinner with a guest chef in which every course was paired with a different coffee.

Roast levels run Light, Medium, Medium-dark and Dark. House blends include Dawn, Ember and Haven. Single origins on the list when we checked: Ethiopia Guji, San Mateo (Guatemala), Finca Chirimoya (Peru) and Coffeelipe (Colombia). Dawn (flagship medium roast, suited to espresso).
