Ember Goods is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Washington: an independent roaster based in Olympia. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Four friends from Washington started Ember Goods as a coffee shop that also sells clothing and goods suited to the Northwest. After upgrading its roasting equipment, the company built a cabin in the woods near Olympia to hold the roaster, and all its coffee is roasted there. Only staff and roasters with Specialty Coffee Association certification work in the cabin, and the company says its beans are organic and fair trade.
Besides the downtown store, the company now runs a mobile coffee cart that it brings to events around the area. Members of its Ember Club get cabin-roasted coffee every month and pick up extra perks the longer they stay subscribed.
What they roast
House blends include Golden Hour, Moonlight, Morning Dew and Bluebird. Single origins on the list when we checked: Santa Felisa and La Pradera. Cabin Roast Decaf. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.
Where to drink it
The downtown store opens every day, from 7am on weekdays, and roasting happens at a separate cabin outside town that is closed to visitors.

The company blog includes a day-trip guide to Olympia, pointing visitors to things to do around the state capital. Each month the owners choose a different charity or cause and give it 1 percent of sales. A second shop in the Tumwater Craft District is listed on the site, though its hours had not been set when checked.
